The aim of using autonomous agricultural robots is always to supplement or replace human labour with more precise and reliable technology in order to produce higher quality food more efficiently and in a more ecological way at lower cost. For example, cameras installed on the robots can detect objects such as weeds, stem contents, maturity levels, soil condition, etc. These findings can be used to automate further activities of the robot.
If an agricultural robot detects weeds between the crops, the weed killer can be sprayed specifically on the weeds. This prevents the widespread application of pesticides and saves a lot of money, which in turn benefits nature. Other robots dispense completely with the use of pesticides and destroy the weeds specifically through the use of electricity.
