Rapid Manufacturing

Rapid Manufacturing

Rapid Manufacturing

Rapid manufacturing describes the production of (end) products or series with the help of additive manufacturing processes. The advantages of this process also lie in its material and cost efficiency. In addition, additive manufacturing processes can be used to produce products that cannot be realised using conventional processes. Another advantage of using additive manufacturing processes is the production of moving parts. These can be manufactured in one work step and do not have to be subsequently assembled.

Prerequisites for use

Know-how in the application

A certain amount of know-how is necessary for the use of additive manufacturing processes. This includes the areas of design, material selection and manufacturing.

Make-or-buy decision

Numerous providers offer their services in the field of rapid manufacturing on the market. These have the relevant expertise and the necessary machines. Therefore, the purchase of parts by means of rapid manufacturing or the in-house production of these must be weighed up.
