Industrial image processing

Industrial image processing describes the use of image processing for industrial purposes. Here, image processing systems help, for example, with the recognition or identification of workpieces or parts. Components of the image processing system are digital sensors in robust industrial cameras and corresponding hardware and software solutions to correctly interpret and further process the sensor data.

Currently, image processing methods are mainly used to support quality assurance. In the future, however, their use in processing robots for position recognition or other types of support in production processes will become increasingly important.
