VR/AR production planning

VR/AR production planning

VR/AR production planning

Modern technologies such as AR (augmented reality) and VR (virtual reality) also lend themselves to production planning. This is because the planning process is interdisciplinary. From process planning to electrical engineering, mechanics and software development to central control, countless other factors are essential for successful planning. Optimally, these planning processes run in parallel. VR or AR technology supports the planning process by making it more tangible, more flexible and simpler. The use of VR and AR results in potential savings, especially with regard to labour costs and planning times.

Requirements for use

Technical requirements

All the necessary equipment must be available for VR/AR-supported production planning. This includes VR/AR glasses, powerful computers and a stable data infrastructure.

Organisational requirements

The organisational prerequisites mainly refer to the necessary know-how and the preparation of CAD data for the use of VR/AR technologies.
