Reuse of old electric car batteries

Electromobility is a big buzzword of our future. Manufacturers promise vehicles that are as environmentally neutral as possible, but their shortcoming is the disposal of batteries. While the batteries of electric cars contain many valuable raw materials, the purchase of new batteries is usually more economical than the complex recycling of raw materials.

One possible use of discarded e-car batteries is as energy storage devices in the commercial or private sector. With the help of additional energy storage units, peak loads can be balanced, the charging infrastructure can be supported or an emergency power supply can be guaranteed. This recycling measure is environmentally friendly and sustainable and contributes to improving the eco-balance of electric cars.

Prerequisites for use

Analysis of the area of application of energy storage systems

In order for energy storage systems to be used sensibly, an analysis of the application is recommended. Not every machine can be supplied with the energy of such an energy storage system without problems.
