Lidar-on-a-Chip

Lidar is a method for optical distance and speed measurement. The word lidar is composed of the English description "light detection and ranging". The method is related to radar measurement, but it is based on a three-dimensional laser measurement. Lidar can be used to map the environment quickly and accurately.

Lidar is the essential complement for any mobile robot (or any autonomous vehicle that rolls, flies or floats) or any automated machine that needs, for example, a safety area. Lidar is also widely used for traffic control or for surveying in the trades. The advantages of lidar technology can be seen in the smaller size of the sensors, the lower power consumption and the fact that they are almost maintenance-free.

Prerequisites for use

Process inspection for the use of LiDAR

For the use of Lidar, the process and its environment must be examined for potential sources of interference.
