Reporting in the Smart Factory

The amount of data generated by digitalised processes in the context of Industry 4.0 can also be used for controlling. While key performance indicator systems are currently still often based on past values, real-time values - created by digitalised processes - can accelerate decision-making, value creation observation and deviation analyses in the future. This will also enable controlling systems to interact with the actors in the value chain. This view of the present and the linking of processes offers great potential in terms of resource and cost efficiency.

Prerequisites for use

Overall entrepreneurial mindset

For successful controlling in Industry 4.0, an overall entrepreneurial approach is necessary. Only in this way can the interaction of individual data from different processes be correctly interpreted and recommendations for action derived.

Networked production

The basic prerequisite for future-oriented reporting and controlling is networked production. Without the real-time values taken from networked production, "real-time controlling" is not possible.
