By definition, materials are a collective term for a group of material production factors used to manufacture end products.
Surfaces are defined in the chemical-physical sense as boundary surfaces and in technology as the material layer to be processed.
Innovative materials and surfaces are a field of expertise in the Münsterland. It is a cross-sectional topic that extends across many industries. The Materials & Surfaces area deals with new materials as well as innovative processing methods for materials and provides information in the following sub-areas
