Aluminium anodising

Aluminium anodising

The anodising process strengthens the natural oxide layer on aluminium by means of electrochemical treatment of anodic oxidation. For this purpose, the surface is first pre-treated (degreased and pickled) and then anodised. The freshly porous layer can be coloured with dye, among other things. Afterwards, the surface is compacted by means of hot water vapour, steam or chemical processes. The colouring is done with organic or inorganic dyes, via electrolytic colouring or interference colouring. Overall, this process gives the material aluminium decorative or functional technical material properties.
