Ferrous materials

Pig iron is produced by chemical reduction of iron ores, which are mainly extracted in open-cast mines. Iron materials are divided into steel and cast iron. Steel is used as a material in mechanical engineering and as a building material in construction. Cast iron is used in the vehicle industry and, among other things, for the production of gas and water pipelines. Cast iron is processed by casting in moulds. Steel is worked and processed by means of primary shaping, forming, machining and joining processes. Steel is recycled in the iron steel plant. Scrap iron from cast iron is reused in foundries.
