Wood materials

Wood-based materials consist of shredded and subsequently reassembled structural elements. The most common types are solid wood, veneer, chipboard, wood fibre and composite materials.

In addition to vehicle construction and as packaging material, the majority of wood-based materials are used in the construction and furniture industries.

After mixing various forms of wood particles with natural and synthetic binders and, if necessary, adding further additives, panel- or strand-shaped materials are produced by hot pressing. Processing by means of extrusion or injection moulding is also possible, as are mechanical connections by means of screws, dowels or tongue-and-groove joints.

Waste wood is collected and sorted in advance. Pollutant-free waste wood is processed and reused as material. Contaminated waste wood is recycled for energy.
