Climate protection in Münsterland: Knowledge is fun

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges for current and future generations. It is therefore all the more important that everyone knows what is at stake! Would you like to learn more about the topic? Then you've come to the right place. Get closer to the topics of environmental protection, climate change and renewable energies with fun and games. We have put together a few projects for young and old!

Calculate your ecological footprint!

For example, you can use online calculators to easily calculate the ecological footprint of your diet and see in which areas you can reduce emissions. With the Wuppertal Institute's resource calculator, you can see how many tonnes you need in different areas, such as consumption or mobility. You can also compare your final result with other participants. Finally, you will also receive helpful tips on how to improve your "ecological rucksack".

Exciting experiments for your school

The state agency for energy and climate protection (NRW.Energy4Climate) offers exciting, guided experiments for fifth to tenth graders. The little ones learn how to save energy through play, while the older ones learn about the connections between consumption and climate protection and immerse themselves in the topics of digitalisation and the energy transition with the help of virtual reality. In addition, the eighth to tenth grade learn about the working world around climate protection and renewable energies with an Escape Game.

Make your day care centre a ClimateCentre!

Kindergartens and daycare centres that set out to explore the topic of climate protection with children in a playful way and to experience and learn about their own options for action can be awarded the KlimaKita.NRW label. All information and conditions of participation can be found here.
