Münsterland is climate land

This is Münsterland e.V.

Innovative companies, varied tourism, important science and inspiring culture - that's what the Münsterland stands for. Nearly 1.6 million people live on almost 6000 square kilometres in the regional centre of Münster and the districts of Borken, Coesfeld, Steinfurt and Warendorf.

As one of the strongest regional management organisations with brand management in Germany, Münsterland e.V. promotes THE GOOD LIFE in Münsterland. It bundles the potential and the competences of the region and structures and intensifies the cooperation of all actors. The Münsterland brand is at the centre of its work. Together with the stakeholders in the Münsterland, Münsterland e.V. makes the strengths of the region visible and tangible through joint initiatives.

Actions, initiatives and projects of Münsterland e.V. for more climate protection

As the region's network centre, Münsterland e.V. promotes climate protection in the Münsterland region with various campaigns. It focuses on the environment, nature, climate protection and nutrition, works closely with the Münsterland Seal, for example, presents farm shops and initiates campaigns such as "The Münsterland is blooming" or other events with a focus on climate protection.

The Münsterland Seal

The Münsterland Seal focuses on the value of local products. It identifies foodstuffs that have been demonstrably grown, harvested, produced or refined in the Münsterland region. In restaurants, the seal shows that the chefs use ingredients from the Münsterland region for the majority of their dishes. It is a guide when shopping in shops or farm shops and when visiting restaurants.

The Münsterland is flourishing: Biodiversity and climate impact adaptation

Under the heading "Das Münsterland blüht auf" (The Münsterland is flourishing), Münsterland e.V. provides information on its website on the topics of biodiversity and climate change adaptation and supplements it with practical examples and interviews from the region. In addition, a parallel competition was held in which 350 people from the Münsterland sent in a photo of their nature-friendly garden for a chance to win a regional picnic basket.

Farm shops in Münsterland

The Münsterland tastes good: this is proven by the many delicious regional products produced by local farms in the Münsterland. And often they can be bought directly from the producers - because in Münsterland numerous farm shops invite you to discover the region from a culinary point of view as well. Münsterland e.V. introduces special farm shops from the region at www.muensterland.com/hoflaeden and presents an overview of numerous farms from the region that interested people can head for on their next shopping trip or cycle tour.

The returnable glass system for Münster and the Münsterland region

From 2023, restaurants, caterers, canteens and delivery services will be obliged by the German Packaging Act to offer reusable containers as an alternative to disposable packaging for the takeaway and delivery of food and drinks. With the aim of introducing a particularly low-waste, high-quality and uniform reusable system for the out-of-home sale of food, the City of Münster, together with Münsterland e.V., DEHOGA Westphalia, Studierendenwerk Münster, reusable system provider Relevo and the premium glass brand ARCOROC, has developed an innovative glass reusable solution that is a real alternative to the plastic variants otherwise common on the market.
