A rural community between Münster and Warendorf
Everswinkel is located in the district of Warendorf, around 20 minutes by car from the district town. Münster and Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) are half an hour away by car. To the north and east, you can reach Osnabrück and Bielefeld in just under an hour. You are also well connected to the Ruhr area to the south-west: Dortmund is also only an hour away.
Tip: The Münsterland is a cycling region! 4500 kilometres of cycle paths offer you almost unlimited possibilities in the city and in the countryside: you can commute to work comfortably by bike and go on great tours with friends and family.
Living in Everswinkel
The villages of Everswinkel and Alverskirchen, now the two districts of the municipality, were founded in the Middle Ages around the churches of the time. Today, most of the almost 10,000 inhabitants live in Everswinkel, while the smaller Alverskirchen is located a good five minutes by car to the south-west of the town centre. Eleven rural farming communities also belong to the municipality.
Both towns consist mainly of housing estates. The industrial estates to the north of Alverskirchen and on the outskirts of Everswinkel are mainly home to medium-sized companies.

Did you know...?!
The name Everswinkel recalls the history of the village's origins: it was founded in an angular protruding part of the old farming community of Ever. The heraldic animal of the municipality is still the boar - it also appears as a figure on the town hall, the church and the fountain on Magnusplatz in the centre of the village.
Shopping in Everswinkel
In Everswinkel you are well provided for in everyday life: you can shop in several supermarkets and on Fridays at the weekly market, and there is a bakery in Alverskirchen. The town centre offers a number of shopping opportunities, from drugstores to shoe and fashion shops to electrical goods shops. Indispensable in the Münsterland: specialist bicycle shops offer everything you need for your tours by bike or e-bike.
Childcare and schools in Everswinkel
Among the six kindergartens and day care centres in Everswinkel is also a Waldorf kindergarten. One of the facilities is located in the district of Alverskirchen, so that care is offered close to home everywhere. The municipality has compiled further information for families here.
In addition to the two primary schools in the districts of Everswinkel and Alverskirchen, the municipality also has a combined school with a secondary school and a secondary modern school, as well as a Waldorf school.
