Isselburg is located in the district of Borken in the western Münsterland, directly on the Dutch border. Its immediate neighbours are Dinxperlo in the Netherlands and the city of Bocholt. To the south, Isselburg borders on Hamminkeln and Rees on the Lower Rhine. You are well connected here in all directions: For example, the Dutch city of Arnhem with its many sights can be reached by car in only 45 minutes, and the district town of Borken is only half an hour away. Münster and Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) are just under an hour and a half away, Düsseldorf a good hour. Weeze Airport is 45 minutes away.
Tip: Münsterland is a cycling region! 4,500 kilometres of cycle paths offer you almost unlimited possibilities in the city and in the countryside: you can commute to work comfortably by bike and go on great tours with friends and family.
The town consists of the districts of Isselburg, Anholt, Heelden, Herzebocholt, Vehlingen and Werth. Most of the 11,000 inhabitants live in the centrally located, eponymous district of Isselburg.

Isselburg has three primary schools (with open all-day schooling) - one each in the districts of Isselburg, Anholt and Werth - and a comprehensive school with a secondary modern school and a secondary modern school. There is a comprehensive school and several grammar schools in the neighbouring town of Bocholt.
The industrial estates in the north and south of the town centre are home to companies from the mechanical engineering, metal processing and plastics manufacturing sectors, among others. In addition, there are a number of small and medium-sized commercial and trading businesses as well as various service providers in Isselburg.
You can easily commute to work in the Ruhr area via the A3 motorway, to which Isselburg has its own exit.
