Neuenkirchen is located in the northern Münsterland, on the border with Lower Saxony. The municipality also borders Rheine, the largest city in the Steinfurt district. Münster and Osnabrück can be reached by car in around 45 minutes, and Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) can be reached just as quickly. The Dutch city of Enschede is also only about 40 minutes away. The district town of Steinfurt is about 15 minutes away.
