A magic of castle, park and village
Nordkirchen

Welcome to Nordkirchen!

In Nordkirchen you can enjoy THE GOOD LIFE between the magnificent castle, beautiful countryside and the nearby cities of Münster and Dortmund. The 10,000 inhabitants live in the three formerly independent districts of Nordkirchen, Südkirchen and Capelle, all of which offer a village-like community and club life as well as shopping facilities.

A jewel south of Münster

Nordkirchen is located in the Coesfeld district about 40 minutes by car from Münster. You can reach Dortmund and Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) just as quickly. It takes about 50 minutes to drive to Coesfeld and a good hour to Bielefeld.
There is a railway station in the Nordkirchen-Capelle district, from where trains run to Münster and Dortmund.

Tip: Münsterland is a cycling region! 4,500 kilometres of cycle paths offer you almost unlimited possibilities in the city and in the countryside: you can commute to work comfortably by bike and go on great tours with friends and family.

Living in Nordkirchen

The eponymous district of Nordkirchen is also the largest: almost 5,000 of the total population of over 10,000 live here. Around 3400 people live in Südkirchen and around 2000 in Capelle. All three districts have a small centre with shopping facilities, a church and a primary school, surrounded by housing estates.

If you would like to rent a flat in Nordkirchen, Südkirchen or Capelle, you can view the current rent index on the municipality's website. If you want to build your own house, you will also find information and contacts for new development areas there.

Even though rental and purchase prices are following the general property trend overall, there are still numerous niches to be discovered in Münsterland when it comes to building, buying or renting. Here you can find the average purchase and rental prices for a house or flat in rural Münsterland.

Did you know...?!

Nordkirchen proudly calls itself a "castle community": the baroque moated castle is the town's landmark and is known far beyond the borders of Münsterland - also under the nickname "Westphalian Versailles". You can visit part of the magnificent building, which also houses a restaurant and the University of Applied Sciences for Finance (FHF) of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. A branch of the registry office is located in the "Hochzeitstürmchen".
