Welcome to Raesfeld!

Raesfeld is located in the district of Borken, about 15 minutes by car from the district capital. You can commute to work from here not only to Münsterland, but also to the Ruhr region and the Lower Rhine. Münster and Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) are about an hour's drive away. Düsseldorf and the Dutch city of Arnhem are just as easy to reach. Weeze Airport is also just over an hour's drive away.

Tip: The Münsterland is a cycling region! 4,500 kilometres of cycle paths offer you almost unlimited possibilities in the city and in the countryside: you can commute to work comfortably by bike and go on great tours with friends and family.

Around 7500 of the municipality's 11,000 inhabitants live in the eponymous district of Raesfeld. Around 3,500 people live in the district of Erle, which is just under ten minutes to the south by car. The municipality also includes a number of farming communities as well as the northern part of the former community of Overbeck, now a small settlement to the west of Erle.

The moated castle of Raesfeld is located in the farming community of Freiheit to the south-east of the main town. Today, it houses a training and further education centre for the chambers of crafts and trades, a restaurant and the municipality's wedding rooms, as well as regularly hosting cultural events.

Shopping is always within easy reach in Raesfeld and Erle: Supermarkets, cafés and restaurants are located in both districts. In the centre of Raesfeld you can also find shoes, clothes, stationery, decoration and gift articles. As everywhere in the Münsterland region, there are also specialist bicycle shops with everything you need for your excursion by bike or e-bike.

The Designer Outlet Ochtrup (45 minutes by car) and the Dutch city of Venlo (just over an hour) invite you to go on extensive shopping tours.
