Welcome to Recke!

Recke is located in the district of Steinfurt and is one of the northernmost municipalities in the Münsterland. The town is well connected in all directions via the nearby A1 and A30 motorways and thus offers good conditions for commuters. Münster is about an hour's drive away, and Osnabrück and Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) can be reached in 40 minutes. The district town of Steinfurt is 45 minutes away by car. In the west, you can reach the Netherlands, for example Enschede, in just under an hour. The North Sea coast is just under two hours away.

Tip: The Münsterland is a cycling region! 4,500 kilometres of cycle paths offer you almost unlimited possibilities in the city and in the countryside: you can commute to work comfortably by bike and go on great tours with friends and family.

The municipality of Recke consists of the main town and the districts of Steinbeck, Obersteinbeck and Espel, all of which are just a few minutes' drive from the centre in the Münsterland parkland. A total of 11,000 people live in the municipality, most of them in Recke. The smallest district is Espel with around 1,000 inhabitants, Obersteinbeck is home to around 1,500 people and Steinbeck to a good 2,000.
