Rhede

Welcome to Rhede!

The town of Rhede offers you THE GOOD LIFE with urban leisure and cultural activities in the town centre and nature experiences in the green surroundings. The approximately 19,000 inhabitants live in five districts: the large town centre and four rural districts.

Between Westphalia, the Lower Rhine and the Netherlands

Rhede is located on the western edge of Münsterland, not far from the Dutch border. Münster is just over an hour away by car, and the Dutch cities of Arnheim and Enschede are just as quick. The Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) and Weeze Airport on the Lower Rhine are also just an hour away. The district town of Borken is 20 minutes away by car.

Tip: The Münsterland is a cycling region! 4500 kilometres of cycle paths offer you almost unlimited possibilities in the city and in the countryside: you can easily commute to work by bike and go on great tours with friends and family.

Living in Rhede

Most of the approximately 19,000 inhabitants live in the core town of Rhede, which is surrounded by four other districts. The largest is Vardingholt to the north. Around 3000 people live here in a small town centre and on many farms scattered across the Münsterland parkland. The Krechting district, with around 1900 inhabitants, directly adjoins the town centre to the south. To the south-west and south-east are the two scattered settlements Büngern (260 inhabitants) and Krommert (700 inhabitants).

Although rental and purchase prices are following the general property trend overall, there are still numerous niches to be discovered in Münsterland when it comes to building, buying or renting. Here you can find the average purchase and rental prices for a house or flat in the rural area of Münsterland.

You can also view information on sales and price trends on the property market in the Borken district in the property market report.
