Saerbeck is located in the northern Münsterland in the district of Steinfurt. Münster, Osnabrück and the district town of Steinfurt can all be reached by car in half an hour. You can also reach the Netherlands quickly from here: The popular shopping city of Enschede, for example, is just an hour's drive away. You can also reach the North Sea coast in just two hours via the nearby motorways.
And if you like to travel further afield: Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) is only 15 minutes away.

Around the village church in the centre of Saerbeck there are several shops, cafés and restaurants as well as a small park. The village centre is adjoined by housing estates where the approximately 7100 inhabitants of the municipality live. To the west of the village centre is a small commercial area with supermarkets and a few businesses, while a larger industrial area lies to the north-east outside the village. To the south-west is the popular bathing lake. There are still a few farms in the countryside around the village, which were the most important economic factor in the middle of the 20th century.

The municipal administration, investors and citizens have jointly developed and implemented a climate protection concept that has received an award from the NRW Environment Ministry. In the bioenergy park, for example, which was established in the landscape north of the village, wind, sun and biomass now generate three times as much electricity as the community itself needs. In addition to expert lectures and workshops, guided tours on the topic of the climate community are also offered.
In the centre of Saerbeck you can shop for shoes, flowers, books and clothes. There are also several restaurants, an ice cream parlour and a bakery with a café. You can get groceries in several large supermarkets and on Fridays at the weekly market in the centre of the village. Cyclists have a large selection of e-bikes, bicycles and accessories in specialist bicycle shops all over Münsterland.

The industrial estates are home to mechanical engineering companies, plastics manufacturers, a software company and metalworking businesses, among others. Large local companies include the Saertex Group, whose products are used in aircraft construction, the automotive industry and wind turbines, among others, and the biogas plant manufacturer EnviTec Biogas.
The Bioenergy Park, which sees itself as a centre of excellence for renewable energies, is home to both companies and research institutions that support the energy transition.
