Bear-Machines GmbH: Award winner 2023/24

Category "Small and smart"

With its innovation "Bear-Cut" the Bear-Machines GmbH from Heek was successful at the Münsterland Innovation Award 2023/24 in the "Small and smart" category.

The company has developed the first semi-automatic tyre regrooving machine - a machine that never existed in this form before. "Bear-Cut" carries out re-profiling in accordance with standards within just a few minutes. With little effort and very easy to operate.

An outstanding innovation: sustainable and efficient

The tyres on commercial vehicles have to withstand a lot: heavy loads, high speeds, dilapidated roads. To keep them running for as long as possible, they are regrooved - in other words, their rubber is recut to restore the tread depth. But even in the 21st century, this is still done by hand.

A laborious and physically demanding method. So cumbersome and physically demanding that re-trimming is usually simply not done. But it would be worthwhile for haulage companies and vehicle fleets, for example. Not only would they have to change the expensive tyres less often, they would also have to refuel less frequently.

Saving resources, good for the environment

Normally, a tyre rolls around 140,000 to 180,000 kilometres on the road before it runs out of breath. Once re-profiled, its service life is increased by a whopping 25 per cent. Another advantage: because it has already been run in, such a tyre consumes less fuel. Retreading therefore conserves resources and saves CO2.

It's a good thing that Bear-Machines GmbH from Heek exists. Because it has developed the first semi-automatic tyre regrooving machine.

Bear-Machines has taken the state of the art to a whole new level. An outstanding innovation, also in terms of its enormous contribution to sustainability. Because it not only minimises the physical impact, but also the environmental impact.
