Hagemeister GmbH & Co. K: 2017 award winner in the "Cooperation between business and science" category

This innovation makes Münsterland even more liveable and sustainable: Hagemeister GmbH & Co. KG from Nottuln, together with Münster University of Applied Sciences, has developed a special energy clinker that allows solar radiation to be used not only on the roof but also on the façade. This deservedly earned the Münsterland Innovation Award in the category "Cooperation between Business and Science".

Fruitful cooperation between business and science

Clinker meets photovoltaics: Christian Hagemeister, Managing Director of Klinkerwerk Hagemeister GmbH & Co. KG, has joined forces with Professor Dietmar Mähner from Münster University of Applied Sciences. The result: they have found a way to use solar radiation not only on the roof, but also on the façade: through energy clinkers.

The core of the idea is to use integrated heat collectors to generate energy for heating and hot water. The energy clinker developed is convincing not only because of its simple design, stability and functionality, but also because of its sustainability.

With this innovation, houses can be built even more energy-efficiently in the future. With the system, Hagemeister was also able to establish itself in a new field - that of renewable energies. To this day, the company is committed to climate protection. For example, Hagemeister also produces clinker from a recycling cycle.
