The story of this innovation took its course with cut flowers: Frank Brormann, master hairdresser and owner of 360° Haare GmbH in Oelde, invented a cutting tool with which hair is no longer cut straight but at an angle. For the "Calligraph" he received the Innovation Award in the category "Small and Smart".
If the stem of a cut flower is cut at an angle instead of straight, it will give way when resisted. It is the same with hair. Frank Brormann wanted to make use of this discovery - and invented the calligrapher.
A blade designed by "sieger design" makes it possible. Due to the built-in angle, the calligraph cuts the hair at an angle. This makes the hair more elastic, gives it more body and reduces split ends - a study conducted by the University of Applied Sciences Münster impressively proved this.
In the meantime, the cutting tool has become a huge business model. Hairstylists from all over the world get trained in the patented hair cutting technique, the "calligraphy cut". In 2018, Frank Brormann even made it onto the show "Die Höhle der Löwen" - and sparked a veritable bidding war with his innovation. To this day, the hype surrounding the cut has not subsided.
