With "Blue.on", the company Hengst SE from Münster has created an innovation that saves resources and significantly reduces environmental pollution. For its sustainable alternative to the conventional oil spin-on filter , the company thus rightly received the Münsterland Innovation Award in the "Economy" category.
An oil change is very important for the proper functioning of a car. However, not only is the oil changed in the workshop, but the spin-on oil filter is also replaced and later disposed of as hazardous waste - unfortunately, this is not sustainable.
Two billion spin-on oil filters pollute our environment worldwide every year. The energy required for disposal could supply the whole of Vienna. Not to mention the wasted residual oil and steel. Hengst SE from Münster invented a sustainable alternative to the conventional spin-on oil filter: "Blue.on". With this innovation, the cap and nozzle remain on the engine. Only the fully incinerable filter is changed.
The concept can only be used for passenger cars; commercial vehicles, agricultural and construction machinery as well as marine applications also benefit from the innovation. Depending on the requirements, the system can also be individually adapted and numerous filter media are available. In 2020, for example, Blue.on celebrated its premiere in the new Opel Astra!
