After-work picnic at POHA House: 40 newcomers get to know each other at the welcome event in Münster

Service Onboarding@Münsterland supports skilled workers in arriving

Living, working and community under one roof: Around 40 participants at the welcome event in Münster were able to experience what living in the recently opened POHA House is like. The team from the Onboarding@Münsterland service of Münsterland e.V. had invited newcomers from all over Münsterland to get to know each other on the outdoor terrace of the Hansator. At a picnic together, they exchanged ideas and enjoyed the culinary specialities from the region.

"After a guided tour of the house, the newcomers were able to get to know each other and talk about their first experiences in Münsterland," reported Eva Kleingräber from the Onboarding@Münsterland service. "With the welcome events, we want to show and make it tangible that Münsterland is a welcoming region. Because only skilled workers who feel at home and find social connections will stay in our region in the long term."

On the outdoor terrace and in the adjacent common room, the newcomers chatted about their interests and impressions. Klara Engert has been living in Münster for a short time and was happy about the contact with like-minded people: "I would definitely recommend the welcome events - great atmosphere, cool people and delicious food. I became aware of the event via Instagram and was very keen to meet new people. I was also very excited to see the inside of POHA House." Anke Helmbrecht comes from Bonn and has lived in Münster for six months. She is enthusiastic about the city and the country: "The decisive reason for our move to Münster was the commitment of the city and the region to the topic of climate protection, which convinced me. And I'm thrilled that I was able to talk about it directly with the other newcomers at the picnic."

The welcome event is part of the Münsterland-wide service Onboarding@Münsterland. With this format, the service brings like-minded people together and discovers exciting places in the region with them so that they arrive and also want to stay. The Onboarding@Münsterland service was developed as a regional initiative by employers and economic players in the Münsterland region and is implemented by Münsterland e.V. with the support of numerous institutions in the region. It supports employers in employer branding and location marketing as well as skilled workers in arriving, feeling good and staying in the region. The service includes not only events such as the Welcome Event, but also advisory services for skilled workers. Further information at www.muensterland.com/onboarding
