Andreas Grotendorst becomes new board member of Münsterland e.V.

The new Executive Board for Münsterland e.V. has been determined: Andreas Grotendorst will succeed Klaus Ehling, who has been head of the regional management organisation since 2009, in August 2024. This was decided unanimously by the Supervisory Board of Münsterland e.V. at its meeting on 14 March 2024.

"I would like to thank the Supervisory Board of Münsterland e.V. for the clear vote and the trust placed in me. Together with the Münsterland e.V. office team, I will devote all my energy and commitment to the positive development of the region," said Grotendorst in his first statement following his election.

Grotendorst is a true Münsterlander, lives in Raesfeld, is 53 years old, married and has four children. He has currently been Head of Rural Development and Land Organisation at the Münster district government for two and a half years. Prior to this, he graduated from the North Rhine-Westphalia University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration as a senior civil servant and then studied business administration. Among other things, he was mayor of the castle community of Raesfeld for eleven years.

"I am delighted that we have found such a competent and qualified successor for the important position of CEO in such a short space of time," emphasises Dr Kai Zwicker, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Münsterland e.V. "Mr Grotendorst impressed us with his diverse professional experience and expertise at municipal level and most recently at the Münster district government, as well as his empathetic and engaging manner. We are certain that he will have a decisive influence on the work of Münsterland e.V., which employs around 50 people in the region."

Klaus Ehling had previously asked the Supervisory Board for personal reasons to step down and retire at the end of July 2024, two years before his contract expires after more than 15 years. "I wish my successor all the best and, above all, every success in his decisions in these challenging times. Having worked with Mr Grotendorst to date, I am convinced that the Supervisory Board has made a very good choice."
