Weekend and the sun is shining? Autumn holidays and in the mood for fresh air? Münsterland e.V. has put together the ten best microadventures with picnics for the autumn holidays. Exciting half-day and day trips with a combination of adventure and picnic await at www.muensterland.com/picknick.

"Picnicking is our attitude to life in Münsterland," says Melanie Schlüters, head of the Picknick³ project at Münsterland e.V. "We show where in Münsterland you can combine beautiful picnic spots with unusual activities for an excursion. In the process, every picnic is a microadventure: just pack breakfast in your bike bag for once or enjoy your evening meal in a special place."

For example, at the largest pumptrack facility in NRW in Mettingen. There, adventure-seekers can let off steam with mountain bikes, inline skates or scooters while performing stunts on 250 metres of mogul track. There is a "Kids Pumptrack" for children on running bikes. There are plenty of picnic areas on site.

The horse town of Warendorf beckons with a picnic area including Ems flair. The whole thing can be combined with a cycle tour on the Ems Cycle Path, a guided tour of the old town of Warendorf or a visit to the NRW State Stud. The special thing about the picnic area: fresh herbs for picnics in the beds of the "Edible City". Picking is expressly permitted!

The Benedictine monastery of Gerleve in Billerbeck is a quiet place of longing in the middle of the Baumberge mountains. A picnic at the monastery, a hike or a horseback ride - everyone who appreciates the combination of peace and activity is welcome here. A hike on the Ludgerusweg or a ride on the official bridle path network can be wonderfully combined with a delicious picnic break there. Practical: Those interested can purchase a ready-packed picnic in the monastery gastronomy.
