MÜNSTERLAND. Art and culture in particular can deal creatively with crises, difficulties and problems. The Kulturbüro Münsterland supports cultural actors in the region to go digital in Corona times - and awards (s)one filmmaker. Applications are open until 20 April to kultur@muensterland.com.
"We want to help quickly and unbureaucratically so that cultural institutions can shift parts of their offerings into the digital and virtual space," says Andre Sebastian, head of the Münsterland Cultural Office. "That's why we're 'lending' Simon Büchting, an experienced filmmaker who brings years of expertise in shooting, editing and production to the table, turning exciting concepts and ideas into short video clips."
Applications are open to smaller cultural institutions, collectives and (professional) individual artists and cultural workers. Ideas and concepts can be sent by e-mail to kultur@muensterland.com by 20 April with a few brief details on why your idea should definitely be accompanied by a film, what makes it special and who the target group is.
The Kulturbüro will select the most exciting ideas. Münsterland filmmaker Simon Büchting, responsible for media production at Münsterland e.V., will travel with his equipment to each of the selected actors for a day and support them - at a safe distance - during filming. His commitment is free of charge for the actors.
"We are looking for concepts that give the virtual audience special insights into the artistic work. The resulting clips can be used freely by the cultural actors. And who knows: maybe there will even be standing ovations in the social media? We're looking forward to it," says Simone Schiffer from the Münsterland Cultural Office.
