Support for cultural projects: Kulturakademie Münsterland offers orientation in the funding jungle

Who funds what, when, how and why? When looking for financial support for art and cultural projects, there are numerous programmes and institutions to choose from. The three-part online seminar "Funding Compass", which the Münsterland e.V. cultural office is offering as part of its Kulturakademie Münsterland further education series, provides an overview. The three dates take place on 30 April, 7 May and 14 May (each Tuesday), from 3 to 4 pm. Participation is free of charge, but registration is required.

Participants will gain first-hand insights into the structures, funding guidelines, thematic focuses and application procedures of various organisations. Each of the three blocks presents three different institutions with their funding and counselling services. The individual sessions can be booked independently of each other.
"We have deliberately opted for a short and concise format. The hour is primarily about providing an initial insight," says Andre Sebastian from the cultural office, explaining the concept of the event. "If participants are interested, they can then seek direct contact with the funding organisations."

In the first part, Angelika Weide and Wolfgang Weßling from the cultural department of the Münster district government, Dr Friederike Maßling, Head of Cultural Funding and Cultural Partnerships in the LWL Cultural Department, as well as Andre Sebastian and Lars Krolik from the Münsterland Cultural Office will present their work.

The second session will be accompanied by Julia Knies, Landesbüro Freie Darstellende Künste NRW, Lea Hahn from Soziokultur NRW and a representative of the Landesmusikrat NRW.

In the third part, Daniel Huhn, Director of the Filmwerkstatt Münster, Robert Hillmanns from the Department for Diversity, Participation and Socioculture of the Ministry of Culture and Science NRW and Diane Müller, Managing Director of the Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Tanz NRW, will be present as contact persons.

The target group includes all cultural players who would like to find out about the funding and counselling opportunities offered by various institutions and who may wish to design and implement their own project.

All three seminar dates are free of charge, but a binding registration at www.muensterland.com/kulturakademie is required.
