Company succession in times of crisis: Youngstarts podcast interviews courageous female successors

New podcast episodes of the joint project Gründergeist #Youngstarts Münsterland

In from the start: The two successors Nina-Kim Langemeyer and Johanna Münzer have been involved in their parents' business from an early age. While one of them initially took a completely different career path, the other had already been preparing for the succession for several years. The women talk about their path and the challenges of business succession during the Corona pandemic in the new podcast episodes of the joint project Gründergeist #Youngstarts Münsterland.

As a trained alternative practitioner and licensed pharmacist, the succession of her parents' concept store initially came as a surprise to Nina-Kim Langemeyer. She has been helping out in the business since she was 14 years old, and it was not until autumn 2020 that it became clear that she would take over the company. Following the motto "Just do it", the mother of three started as the manager of the concept store in Münster-Nienberge in March 2021. There she sells art, home accessories and fashion, among other things. "I think that as a successor you have to be flexible and courageous - you never know what will come in the future. My goal is to maintain the family atmosphere in the shop and offer my customers a great shopping experience," Langemeyer reports in the interview for the 24th episode of the Successor Podcast.

Johanna Münzer has been supplementing her pocket money in her parents' business since she was a schoolgirl. The 33-year-old from Münsterland knows the processes, the product range and the team of the company Kunsthandwerk Münzer from Emsdetten-Hembergen well, because she has been actively involved in the family business for eight years. At the turn of the year, she takes over and reports in the new podcast episode about her anticipation of the upcoming tasks as managing director. "I have found a way for me to feel comfortable in the company in the long term: With small milestones, small projects and above all together with the employees and also my parents, who continue to support me and the company," Johanna Münzer tells us in the interview.

Listeners to the podcast "How was it with you...?" will find out which hurdles the two women had to overcome on their way to business succession and how they deal with the responsibility and risk in times of crisis. - Company succession in Münsterland" in episodes 24 and 25.
