Münsterland thinks ahead: Applications for the Münsterland Innovation Award 2021 now open

Awards in five categories

MÜNSTERLAND. Together. Sustainable. Act. Under this title, companies and universities can apply for the Münsterland Innovation Award 2021 from now until 13 February 2022. Münsterland e.V. awards the prize every two years together with its sponsors - the Sparkassen in Münsterland, Westfälische Provinzial Versicherung AG and Westenergie AG. Awards are given for innovations in five categories: "Business", "Science meets Business", "Start-up", "Digital Business Models" and "Small and Smart". The winners will receive prize money of 4000 euros each as well as an image or product film.

"Making the future possible - many entrepreneurs have dedicated themselves to this task here in Münsterland. The numerous ideas from the long history of the competition show how much creative potential there is in our region. We want to continue to promote and actively support this potential because it is a decisive competitive factor," emphasises Klaus Richter, chairman of the district working group of the Münsterland savings banks.

"The people of Münsterland have always been characterised by a special inventive spirit. In order to continue to seek out this spirit, we as a regional insurer have been committed to this award for many years," says Patric Fedlmeier, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Westfälische Provinzial Versicherung. "The Corona pandemic in particular has presented the economy and science with unimagined challenges. We are curious to see how this development is reflected in the applications."

Katherina Reiche, CEO of Westenergie AG, says: "The energy world of tomorrow is sustainable and climate-neutral. For this, it must become digital and smart. As Westenergie, we want to make our contribution to this: we accompany cities and municipalities on their way into the energy future. For this, we need effective ideas. That is why we are looking forward to the projects and impulses for the Münsterland Innovation Award."

The title "Together. Sustainable. Act." of the Münsterland Innovation Award 2021, as Klaus Ehling, board member of Münsterland e.V., emphasises: "In order to ensure a good life in the Münsterland today and in the future, we have to deal with our resources sustainably and operate in a climate-friendly way. This can only be achieved together. That is why we are looking with curiosity at the applications from exciting projects, energetic companies and innovative minds."

The deadline for applications is 13 February 2022. Applications can only be submitted online at www.innovationspreis-muensterland.de. The award ceremony will take place in June 2022 in the district of Coesfeld. Prior to that, a six-member jury with representatives from business and science will decide on this year's winners of the Münsterland Innovation Award.
