Continuously improve the labour market: The Münsterland Regional Agency is to continue its successful work

MÜNSTERLAND/GREVEN. The four Münsterland districts and the City of Münster have decided to continue to participate jointly in financing the success story of the Münsterland Regional Agency. Dr. Olaf Gericke, District Administrator of the Warendorf district, conveyed this message to the representatives of the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs (MAGS) at the annual cooperation meeting between the region's leaders and those of the Laumann Ministry last week at FMO in Greven.

As an interface between the ministry and the region, the regional agency has been implementing numerous concepts, programmes and projects of the Ministry of Labour for more than 20 years and actively supports both employers and employees, "also and especially in the difficult Corona years 2020 and 2021", said the steering committee members.

"Our economic and labour policy structures in Münsterland are functioning successfully and the actors recognise the challenges of the labour market on the ground. Partners such as the employment agencies, the job centres and also the chambers and business development agencies in Münsterland are in lively exchange and are also optimally networked by the Regional Agency," said Dr. Olaf Gericke, District Administrator of the Warendorf district and Chairman of the Steering Committee.

The steering committee members emphasised to the ministry representative Stefan Kulozik in particular the Regional Agency's quick response to current needs on the labour and training market. For example, during the Corona pandemic, online events were held for companies on support offers with a focus on digitalisation and qualification, and to stabilise the training market, the "Aus(bildungs)checker" campaign was developed as an offer for parents of training place seekers.

"We are pleased that we have also acquired several million euros in funding for good work in Münsterland in 2021 together with the region's stakeholders," said Julia Roesler, Head of the Münsterland Regional Agency. "This is a special achievement, also in a state comparison and over the years. It shows: our regional networks are stable and successful in supporting companies and employees."

Not only because of Corona, the topic of digitalisation in the world of work continues to play an important role at the Münsterland Regional Agency. According to the members of the steering committee, it is important to make use of the opportunities for new forms of work organisation and to support them in terms of labour policy.
