Skilled workers for the region: Münsterland e.V. presents Service Onboarding@Münsterland at the nationwide exchange of skilled worker initiatives in Münster

Skilled labour initiatives provide important impulses for their region. They recruit skilled workers and support them and returnees in finding a foothold in their old home country. Representatives of around 30 return and immigration initiatives from all over Germany met in Münster on 4 and 5 May for an exchange and networking meeting. Among them was the Onboarding@Münsterland service of Münsterland e.V., which presented its services as a contact point for the Münsterland host region on Friday.

Under the title "Land in sight", the participants learned about exemplary return and immigration initiatives and their measures and developed new ideas in workshops on the topic of recruiting skilled workers in rural areas.

Monika Leiking, head of the Onboarding@Münsterland service, presented the strengths of the region and the building blocks of the service. "A meeting like this makes it clear how much we are concerned about the shortage of skilled workers throughout Germany," she said, praising the joint exchange. "Our concerns and goals are similar. And yet there are different approaches to recruiting skilled workers from region to region, so we can learn well from each other."

After the lecture, the participants went into practice: at AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG, a leading agricultural trade company, the topic of securing skilled labour from the employer's perspective was also discussed during a tour of the company. Marlene Spanke, an expert in the field of recruiting and employer branding at AGRAVIS, explained: "We at the company location in Münster, as well as at other locations, are also feeling the shortage of skilled workers and therefore place a lot of importance on the successful integration of our new employees in the company and where they live. We therefore greatly appreciate the cooperation with the Onboarding service, because our applicants can get advice on questions about living and living in Münsterland that we cannot answer ourselves or are not even asked in the first place. The impact of the onboarding process is often underestimated."

AGRAVIS is a member of the employer network of the Onboarding@Münsterland service, which presents top employers in the region on the website www.muensterland.com/onboarding and promotes them nationwide with online campaigns.

The participants agreed that in the future location decisions will become increasingly important for international professionals as well. "We also want to develop more in this direction with the Onboarding@Münsterland service," Monika Leiking concluded.

The two-day event was implemented by the INQA network office and the network "Hüben & Drüben - Dein Bundesnetzwerk für Rückkehr- und Zuzugsakteure" together with Münsterland e.V..

On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS) and within the framework of the New Quality of Work Initiative (INQA), the INQA Network Office supports the work of networks for securing skilled labour throughout Germany.
