The Good" picnic blanket from Münsterland is available at around 20 sales outlets

MUNSTERLAND. Münsterland is picnic country - with the "Die Gute" picnic blanket, Münsterlanders are now well equipped for their next picnic adventure. In cooperation with Richter Textilien GmbH & Co KG from Bocholt, Münsterland e.V. produces the colourful blanket in the regional colours of Münsterland in a sustainable, high-quality and regional way. "Die Gute" is available at around 20 sales outlets throughout Münsterland.

"For the perfect picnic in nature, on the playground or in front of one of the magnificent castles, we developed the picnic blanket 'Die Gute' for the people of Münsterland," says Laura Woolfenden, project manager at the project Picknick hoch drei of Münsterland e.V. "It shines in the colours of the region logo and thus symbolises the picnic lifestyle." It was important to Woolfenden to get partners on board and to have the blanket produced regionally: "From the region for the region. Working with regional partners is a lot of fun and maybe that extra bit of heart goes into the products."

"Die Gute" is sustainable and fair from the cotton plantation to the packaging: the yarn for the picnic blankets is spun from certified organically grown cotton. With selected certified partners, the Richter company guarantees the traceability of each product back to the cotton plantation. For this reason, the picnic blanket "Die Gute" has been awarded the GOTS certificate (Global Organic Textile Standard) for organic textiles. In the Bocholt weaving mill, the fine yarns are processed into individual blankets. On large machines, the colourful threads come together and are then woven into one large piece of fabric and rolled up. "The finishing process, from cutting the blanket to the final seams and sewing in the label, is all done by hand," explains Karlheinz Richter, Managing Director of Richter Textilien GmbH & Co. KG. "The last step is folding and packing the blankets to protect them for transport to the customer."

"When producing the blankets, we pay attention to a very high quality and enjoy individual productions for our customers - of course, we like to have them from the region," explains Stefan Leder, Sales Manager at Richter Textilien. "So the picnic blanket for Münsterland is also a special and unique product." Unlike typical woollen blankets, the blanket is not roughened. This makes it robust and ideal for use in nature and the Münsterland park landscape. After the picnic, the blanket can even be washed.

In addition to the picnic blanket, Münsterland e.V. offers other products for picnics. The picnic collection includes a picnic box filled with regional products made in cooperation with the Alexianer Werkstätten in Münster. With the Münster-based start-up "The Sdjool", an outdoor chair close to the ground was created, the so-called Mini-Sdjool.
