When it's cold and wet outside, a nice hearth fire not only warms hands and feet, but also the mind. Münsterland e.V. therefore invites you to a cosy fireside picnic in the Wappensaal at Harkotten Manor. On 26 January, from 7 to 9.30 p.m., those interested can listen to contemplative Münsterland happiness stories and songs in front of the fireplace. A filled picnic box with numerous delicacies will round off the evening.
"Picnics are part of the way of life in our region - even in winter," says Laura Woolfenden, who heads the Picnic3 project at Münsterland e.V.. "Getting together and eating together in convivial company is one of the simplest happiness-makers of all. And when it happens in a place as authentic as Harkotten Manor, it's something very special."
Under the title "Herzstücke im Münsterland in Wort und Klang" (Pieces of the Heart in Münsterland in Words and Sounds), there are fairytale-like tales, special stories of happiness and concrete anticipation of the coming outdoor season with music to match. Balladeer Gudrun Gunia and speaker Hartwig Homann-Sommerhage take the audience on a special tour through Münsterland. The diverse concept comes from the author of the book "Herzstücke im Münsterland - Besonderes abseits der bekannten Wege entdecken", Marta Latour (also known as Martje Thalmann, Türmerin von Münster).
With a surprise picnic, the gastronomy of the Wappensaal will take care of the physical well-being: A filled picnic box with lots of delicious contents and water is included in the ticket price. Additional drinks can be purchased on site.
Tickets for the event cost 25 euros including the picnic and are available at go.muensterland.com/kaminpicknick.
Further fireside picnics are planned for 2 February at Haus Keppelborg in Heek, 9 February at Kaminwelt Neuer in Lüdinghausen and 23 February at Haus Vortlage in Lengerich.
