Get to know each other and enjoy: Münsterland newcomers cook together in Emsdetten

Newcomers to Münsterland enjoyed a sociable cookery evening in Emsdetten on Wednesday evening. While preparing vitello tonnato, grilled pineapple and courgettes with lemon pesto, they got chatting to others who have also recently moved to the region. The event was organised by Münsterland e.V.'s Onboarding@Münsterland service, which regularly organises welcome events in the region for new Münsterlanders.

"The 15 or so participants came from Emsdetten, Rheine, Greven and Gronau. Cooking together provided plenty to talk about and was therefore a great ice-breaker to get to know each other and exchange ideas," said Lea Kamp, Project Manager of the Onboarding@Münsterland service of Münsterland e.V. "In everyday working life, it's not so easy for newcomers to get to know new people alongside their colleagues. The welcome events offer the ideal opportunity to make new contacts in an informal setting."

Participant Simone moved to Emsdetten for professional reasons and was delighted with the relaxed atmosphere at the meeting: "It was a really nice group, great for networking, it was really exciting." Participant Helen is also new to the Münsterland region. She moved to Gronau six months ago for love and set up her own property agency there. "I honestly can't decide what my highlight of the evening was. It was an all-round successful event," she emphasised.

The next welcome event will take place on 18 April and this time is explicitly aimed at international specialists and workers who have moved to the Münsterland region for work.
