Selfies, games, pop-up museums, robots, programming languages. Is all this part of the work of cultural education and what role do social networks actually play in all this? The online conference "Digitality in Arts Education" on Wednesday, 16 September, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. will deal with these aspects and many other topics. The conference is part of the further education series Kulturakademie Münsterland of the Kulturbüro des Münsterland e.V. and takes place in cooperation with the Arbeitsstelle Kulturelle Bildung NRW and the Fachstelle für Jugendmedienkultur NRW.
"Digitalisation has long since reached art, culture and cultural education. But the potential of digital media in educational and cultural contexts is not always recognised. This is where the conference should start and provide thought-provoking impulses and examples of application," says Andre Sebastian from the cultural office of Münsterland e.V. "Because ultimately it's not just about putting a tablet in children's hands, but about the question of how to use it to stimulate their creativity and imagination, to challenge them, to make art and culture with them."
In several short sessions during the online conference, experts will speak and pose exciting questions for discussion, for example, whether you can make art with social media at all, and if so, how. In addition, the event introduces programming tools, shows practical examples of the successful use of digital techniques and media in the field of cultural education and outreach, and provides information about support options and methods that are close to the lifeworld of children and young people and often require no prior knowledge.
The target group for the online conference are representatives from youth institutions, cultural institutions,
artists and other interested parties.
Registration until 13 September at www.muensterland.com/kulturakademie. The participation fee is 20 euros.
