Getting to know the city of horses: 23 newcomers discover the Münsterland horse region

Newcomers to Münsterland met magnificent stallions: At the welcome event in Warendorf last Saturday, 23 newcomers to Münsterland were able to get to know each other on a guided tour of the North Rhine-Westphalian State Stud. The Onboarding@Münsterland service had invited them to the horse capital Warendorf to welcome the newcomers to Münsterland and to initiate an exchange among themselves.

"Discovering the region and meeting new people in the process is very valuable for the start in a new home," says Eva Kleingräber, project manager of the Onboarding@Münsterland service at Münsterland e.V. "Regardless of whether the newcomers live in the regional centre of Münster, in one of the surrounding towns and communities or in the middle of the park landscape: Networking with like-minded people is important to bind the professionals to the region in the long term."

Around 90 active breeding stallions stand in the listed stables of the State Stud in Warendorf. During the guided tour through the historic buildings, the Münsterland newcomers gained an insight into the diverse tasks of the stud - from horse care to training and breeding. Afterwards, they went together to the old town of Warendorf. There was enough time to get to know each other over Italian specialities.

Lina Feyler grew up in Münsterland and lived with her husband and son in Bamberg, Bavaria. Now the family has moved back to Velen in Münsterland: "My husband and I work at Wietholt in Velen and became aware of the welcome event. As returnees, we are looking forward to getting to know the region and the many nice people better." The Wietholt company is a member of the employer network of the Onboarding@Münsterland service and thus offers new employees exclusive access to the regular welcome events. The trip to Warendorf was a lot of fun for the Feyler family. "A nice concept to welcome newcomers and returning employees," says Feyler.

The welcome event is part of the Münsterland-wide service Onboarding@Münsterland. With this format, the service brings like-minded people together and discovers exciting places in the region with them so that they arrive and also want to stay. The Onboarding@Münsterland service was developed as a regional initiative by employers and business players in the Münsterland region and is implemented by Münsterland e.V. with the support of numerous institutions in the region. It supports employers in employer branding and location marketing as well as skilled workers in arriving, feeling good and staying in the region. The service includes not only events such as the Welcome Event, but also advisory services for skilled workers.
