Cultural picnic on the Peace Route: box office open on Sunday

Music, theatre and more: Varied programme at Haus Marck in Tecklenburg

Picnic and culture in front of a historical backdrop: With a large "Cultural Picnic on the Peace Route" at Haus Marck in Tecklenburg on Sunday, 18 June, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Münsterland celebrates the anniversary "375 Years of the Peace of Westphalia" - and at the same time the Münsterland Picnic Days and the Castles and Palaces Day. Tickets are available online at go.muensterland.com/kulturpicknick or on Sunday from 10 am at the box office at Haus Marck. For picnic enthusiasts from Münster, a culture shuttle runs directly to Haus Marck and back.

Guests can be inspired by regional artists at Haus Marck and enjoy the picnic they have brought along themselves. Hosted by Christoph Tiemann, this special cultural format invites you to enjoy music, theatre and performances in a convivial setting at the picnic table provided. The brass ensemble Galaxy Brass, the acrobat Sabeth Dannenberg and the Belgian-Swiss theatre Moustache are among the performers.

The House of Marck was once the site of negotiations for the Peace of Westphalia - as early as 1643, the envoys met there for their first talks. Two special guided tours will be offered in and around Haus Marck for the cultural picnic. You can experience even more history by cycling along the Peace Route - recently awarded four stars by the ADFC - or by taking the Culture Shuttle from Münster.

"With the cultural picnic, we celebrate the lifestyle of picnicking at a wonderful, historically significant location," says project manager Laura Woolfenden. "It will be a picnic for all the senses - with a varied 'culture menu' to enjoy."

The event will take place on a large lawn with adjacent moats and views of the idyllic moated castle. The setting for the picnic on the lawn, such as tables and benches, will be provided on site. Guests are invited to bring their own picnic, drinks and food to the event according to the "bring your own" principle. Suitable regional recipes can be found at www.muensterland.com/picknick-rezepte.

More information and tickets for the cultural picnic on the Peace Route are available online at go.muensterland.com/kulturpicknick. A ticket costs twelve euros (reduced rate six euros). Combined tickets including a ride on the culture shuttle from Münster are also available for 20 euros each (reduced rate ten euros), a guided tour in or around Haus Marck is available for four euros. The box office at Haus Marck opens on Sunday at 10 am. The cultural shuttle in Münster starts at 9.45 a.m. at the long-distance bus stop, Hafenstraße 34, where spontaneous visitors can also buy their tickets at the box office.

The cultural picnic is an initiative of Münsterland e.V. as part of the Münsterland Picnic Days 2023. It is sponsored by the LWL Cultural Foundation in the context of the event series "375 Years of the Peace of Westphalia", with which the Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe is participating in the anniversary year. Local supporters are Tecklenburg Touristik GmbH, Tecklenburger Land Tourismus e.V. and Haus Marck.
