Münsterland Picnic Days from 14 to 16 June: Around 40 events in the region

The Münsterland Picnic Days provide a picnic atmosphere with around 40 events in the region from 14 to 16 June. True to the motto "Me. You. We. The Münsterland celebrates picnics!", the region invites locals, guests and picnic enthusiasts to celebrate the Münsterland way of life. It was initiated by Münsterland e.V., which has called on the region's stakeholders to organise picnic activities.

An overview of everything that is going on during the picnic weekend can be found at www.muensterland.com/picknicktage. There, interested parties can also find the most beautiful places, recipes and tips for a personalised picnic.

"The programme is particularly colourful this year. Some organisers are now taking part for the third time, but we are also delighted to have numerous new offerings. There's something for everyone - from sustainability and enjoyment, music and culture to public viewing events and an open-air cinema," says Lea Kirschberg, head of the Picknick³ project at Münsterland e.V.

It starts on Friday at 5 pm in Ennigerloh: there will be a European Championship public viewing with a picnic, walking acts and music at the natural swimming pool. Picnic fans won't be bored on Saturday either. At the Schwienhorst organic farm in Senden-Ottmarsbocholt, for example, there will be a varied programme for young and old under the title "Münsterländer Landpartie mit Picknick" from 12 noon to 6 pm: with an action field, hands-on stations, music and plenty of space to picnic on the orchard.

At the same time, Dahliengarten e.V. is organising an idyllic event with music in the garden in Legden on Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm under the title "Picnic in the Dahlia Garden".

In keeping with the Münsterland Picnic Days, the historical treasures in the Münsterland region will also be opening their doors and gates on Sunday for Castles and Palaces Day. Picnicking and listening to music against a castle backdrop - this is possible, for example, at the free picnic concerts of "Münsterland Festival meets BurgJazz". Spanish artist Marcos Coll performs in the open air at Vischering Castle in Lüdinghausen, while the three musicians from "saxyarpa" perform on the meadow at Kolvenburg Castle in Billerbeck. There is also a programme for young and old with Münster singer-songwriter Corinna Bilke.

On the same day, the Kulturhof Deitmar in Emsdetten will also be transformed into an inviting picnic landscape from 1 pm to 5 pm. Various walking acts and musicians will move between the blankets and tables. One highlight is the award for the most beautiful table decoration.

Finally, there will be a combination of yoga, beer enjoyment and a special backdrop from 3.30 pm to 7 pm on the meadow in front of Münster Castle: a sundowner yoga picnic organised by Strong Partners in collaboration with Finne Brewery and the University of Münster Professional School will take place there.

"Of course, that's just a selection - there's so much more to discover over the weekend. We are also expecting more events at short notice," says Lea Kirschberg. "We promise exciting days for picnic fans and anyone who wants to become one."

The Picnic Days take place annually around 18 June, International Picnic Day, throughout the Münsterland region.
