If you want to know something, you have to ask. In order to find out what the quality of experience in the Münsterland cycling region is like, Münsterland e.V. is now asking those who need to know: Cyclists who were or are on the 100 Castles Route in Münsterland in 2021, recently or until winter 2022. At www.muensterland.com/gaesteumfrage they can share their experiences and adventures via an online questionnaire until 30 November and, with a bit of luck, also win something.
The questionnaire asks, for example, about the planning and
implementation of the trip, the signposting or the accompanying leisure programme. "The data we get from the survey is worth its weight in gold," says Michael Kösters, head of tourism at Münsterland e.V. "Because we get precise information about the duration and quality of the stay, travel and spending behaviour, the quality of accommodation establishments or cycle routes. In this way we can also pass on interesting information to the places and businesses and make the tourist product 100 Castles Route even better. Therefore the call: Take part!"
The online survey is accompanied by a personal survey on site along the 100 Castles Route. Cyclists will be asked directly on 40 days from May to August. Together with the online survey, this complements the cycling survey launched in January with 22 counting stations throughout Münsterland. "The personal survey is important because it tells us how many of the cyclists recorded by the counting stations are actually travelling as tourists in percentage terms and are not actually regularly cycling to work," says Hans-Joachim Gerdemann from Münsterland e.V. "The combination of the data from the surveys and the count then provides very precise information about how the 100 Castles Route is used and travelled and how satisfied the cyclists are at which points."
Not only the cyclists themselves are called upon to participate - the towns and businesses along the route should also draw attention to the survey and encourage guests to take part.
Münsterland e.V. expects the results of the entire cycling survey in winter 2022/2023.
The surveys and the cycling survey are financed as part of the ERDF funding project "Palaces and Castles Region Münsterland", which was initiated and is being implemented by Münsterland e.V. and the four districts as well as the City of Münster as part of Regionale 2016.
