Münsterland Festival kick-off with Finnish saxophonist Adele Sauros

The Münsterland Festival part 12 will open this Friday evening at the LWL Museum of Art and Culture in Münster - but not with Linda Fredriksson on stage as planned, but with the Finnish saxophonist Adele Sauros. "Unfortunately, the news reached us late on Thursday afternoon that Linda Fredriksson had fallen ill at short notice. Therefore, we tried everything in the short time available to avoid having to cancel the opener. Fortunately, we succeeded," emphasise Christine Sörries, artistic director, and Lars Krolik, festival director at Münsterland e.V. Instead of Linda Fredriksson, the Finnish saxophonist Adele Sauros will open the festival. Joining her on stage at the LWL Museum of Art and Culture in Münster will be Tuomo Prättälä (piano), Mikael Saastamoinen (bass) and Olavi Louhivuori (drums), who would also have played in Linda Fredriksson's band.

Adele Sauros and Linda Fredriksson normally play together in the explosive jazz ensemble "Superposition", drummer Olavi Louhivuori and double bass player Mikael Saastamoinen belong to the band Linda Fredriksson Juniper as well as to the ensemble Superposition. Thus Adele Sauros and the two musicians are a well-rehearsed team. Joining them on stage on the opening night will be Fredriksson's pianist and keyboardist Tuomo Prättälä. During the evening, the band will not only play pieces from the "Juniper" project, but also their own compositions.

"We are pleased that we were able to organise an exciting alternative at such short notice and promise an atmospheric evening," says Lars Krolik.

Admission is at 7.30 pm, start at 8 pm. All tickets remain valid.

In total, the Münsterland Festival part 12 invites you to music, art and dialogue with more than 30 concerts, six art projects and eight dialogue projects in 35 cities and communities in the Münsterland from 6 October to 5 November under the motto "From 1000 Lakes to 100 Castles". This year's guest country is Finland. The organiser is Münsterland e.V., with Christine Sörries as artistic director.
