Kulturrat Münsterland: Dr Britta Kusch-Arnhold becomes Deputy Chairwoman

The Münsterland Cultural Council is responsible, among other things, for advising and recommending projects for financial support from the RKP - Regional Culture Programme NRW. The committee met on 12 March (Tuesday) at Haus Siekmann in Sendenhorst to discuss current developments in the Münsterland cultural region. The members elected a new deputy chairperson: Dr Britta Kusch-Arnhold. She succeeds Berit Gerd Andersen, who has held the position since 2018.

Dr Kusch-Arnhold can bring a wealth of expertise from her current role as director of FARB - Forum Altes Rathaus Borken to her new position as the second chair of the Cultural Council: "I have been a member of the Cultural Council for several years and am delighted to be able to contribute my perspective as deputy chair of a cultural centre that is both a museum and an event venue." Dr Christian Schulze Pellengahr, Chairman of the Cultural Council and District Administrator of the Coesfeld district, was also delighted with the result of the election: "It's great that the board duo is complete again and that we can now benefit from the additional perspective of Britta Kusch-Arnhold. I am sure that together we will make a difference!"

During the meeting, the members exchanged news from the RKP department and the Münster district government as well as from the Kulturbüro and Münsterland e.V. They also discussed the latest news on the potential REGIONALE award and the presentation of the RKP project "sozialpalast MUSIK CONVOY". Erik Biembacher outlined the origins and progress of the project. He is the director of the mobile youth music art project for autonomous, creative youth culture.

The Cultural Council also introduced the following new members: Till Wyler von Ballmoos (Theater im Pumpenhaus), Stefan Querl (Geschichtsort Villa ten Hompel), Angela Merl (Junges Theater Münster), Petra Niepel (Freilichtbühne Greven-Reckenfeld), Dr Sebastian Steinbach (Museum Abtei Liesborn), Christian Schulz (Werte-Stiftung-Münsterland) and Angelika Weide as the new head of culture at the Münster district government. Nicola Ebel from Filmservice MünsterLand was bid farewell. She was a member of the Cultural Council for over 20 years.

The Kulturrat Münsterland brings together around 50 representatives from various cultural sectors, politics and administration. The committee provides impetus in terms of content, takes a stand on cultural policy issues and lends weight to the cultural region by representing its interests. Permanent guests are the representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Münster district government. The business of the Cultural Council is managed by the Cultural Office of Münsterland e.V.
