The Münsterland Media Award honours good journalism and outstanding media reporting on exciting regional topics. Previously titled "Münsterland Journalist Award", the award has grown and developed with its prize winners. The new title "Münsterland Media Prize" takes into account the changes in the media landscape.
"The diversity of media coverage is particularly exciting. This includes the social media post as well as the detailed page 3 report from the daily newspaper," emphasises Wolfram Linke, Chairman of the Press Association Münster-Münsterland e.V. "This shows how enriching it is to look at our region from different perspectives and to report on it - in whatever form."
Klaus Ehling, board member of Münsterland e.V., adds: "Münsterland is colourful - that alone is proven by the large number of contributions submitted. At the same time, the media actors also put their finger in the wound and illuminate those corners where the region would benefit from even more colour. That is why regional reporting is so important for the region and we are pleased to appreciate it by awarding the media prize together with Sparkasse Münsterland Ost and the Press Association."
The following jury members selected the nominees: Sascha Fobbe (freelance journalist), Anna von Garmissen (Leibniz Institute for Media Research/Deputy Chairwoman of the Press Association Münster-Münsterland e.V.), Wolfram Linke (Chairman of the Press Association Münster-Münsterland e.V.).), Klaudia Maleska (Editor, Corporate Communications, Herz-Jesu Hospital Münster-Hiltrup), Uwe Renners (Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Die RHEINPFALZ), Prof. Dr. Armin Scholl (Institute for Communication Studies, University of Münster) as well as Anja Wengenroth (Press Officer, University Hospital Münster).
