Münsterland Picnic Days from 14 to 16 June: First programme highlights have been announced

Events and activities in Münsterland create a picnic atmosphere

There is an open-air cinema, a country walk, yoga, culture and concerts - and of course always a delicious picnic: the Münsterland Picnic Days take place from 14 to 16 June to mark International Picnic Day. True to the motto "Me. You. We. The Münsterland celebrates picnics!", the region invites locals, guests and picnic enthusiasts to celebrate the Münsterland way of life together. The initiator is Münsterland e.V., which has called on the players in the region to organise picnic activities. The first programme highlights have now been announced.

The picnic weekend will kick off with events on 14 June (Friday). This is when, for example, the three-day "Picnic in the Park" event organised by Ochtrup Stadtmarketing und Tourismus GmbH kicks off with an open-air cinema and a European Championship fan mile including public viewing, a sundowner party and a colourful programme for families. Also on Friday, guests of Goecke's Haus und Garten in Wettringen will be able to enjoy treats from the "Villa Anni" home shop with many regional delicacies.

On 15 June (Saturday), for example, the "Münsterländer Landpartie mit Picknick" (Münsterland country party with picnic) will be held at the Schwienhorst organic farm in Ottmarsbocholt in Senden: Music, picnics under fruit trees, organised rally rides by bike and an informative action field with numerous stands and hands-on stations await guests there. The motto here is "Experience agriculture globally and locally". In Nordkirchen, a "summer festival with an inclusive picnic" will take place at the same time - the third inclusion festival entitled "Wir mittendrin - Nordkirchen auf dem Weg zur inklusiven Gemeinde".

To coincide with the Münsterland Picnic Days, the historical treasures in the Münsterland region will also be opening their doors and gates on Sunday for Castles and Palaces Day. Two picnic concerts from the "Münsterland Festival meets BurgJazz" series of events will also attract visitors to Vischering Castle in Lüdinghausen. In the morning, against the backdrop of the picturesque castle, Münster singer-songwriter Corinna Bilke will whisk young and old away to a haunted castle in "The Grusical" with eerily beautiful songs and witty dialogue. In the afternoon, Spanish artist Marcos Coll shows how a harmonica can bring dazzling landscapes to life musically.

Also on Sunday, the Emsdetten tourist office invites you to a "Kultur_Picknick" at the Kulturhof Deitmar and the municipality of Nottuln to a "Picknick auf dem Stiftsplatz" in Nottuln. In Telgte, there will once again be a "Balloon Picnic" in Dümmertpark on Sunday. And a sundowner yoga picnic organised by Strong Partners in collaboration with Finne Brewery and the University of Münster Professional School will take place in the afternoon in Münster's Schlosspark - a combination of yoga, beer enjoyment and a special backdrop.
