Münsterland ride: Around 40 horse enthusiasts ring in the riding season

A successful start to the 2024 riding season - that was the Münsterland Ride on Saturday (27 April) in Ladbergen. Around 40 horse enthusiasts took part in the ride through the Münsterland parkland and enjoyed the region with beautiful scenery, great company and a delicious picnic. The event was organised by Münsterland e.V. together with the district of Steinfurt and the municipality of Ladbergen.

The Münsterland ride started and finished at the Westerfeld riding centre in Ladbergen. From there, the riders set off in the morning on a 15-kilometre ride along forest and field paths. Back at the riding centre, there was a picnic with typical Münsterland food. Those who still felt like it then set off on the second, approximately ten-kilometre ride.

Beforehand, Dr Martin Sommer, District Administrator of the Steinfurt district, opened the event and welcomed the participants. "We hope that the Münsterland Ride around Ladbergen was able to convey the positive attitude to life in the Münsterland. We would be delighted if riders from other regions came back to take advantage of the wide range of riding holidays and rides on offer in the region."

Laura Finke, responsible for the equestrian region at Münsterland e.V., emphasised: "The Münsterland Ride has become a permanent fixture in the Münsterland e.V. event calendar since 2017. We now have many repeat offenders, but there are also always new riders who want to take part."

Gaby Klussmann from Bochum, for example, has already taken part in the Münsterland Ride several times: "And this won't be my last one either," she emphasised on Saturday. "I particularly liked the varied route and the good organisation."

The route went along country roads lined with trees, across fields and meadows, through forests and along the river: "The Münsterland Ride whets the appetite for more and offers a great incentive to discover more of the region and come back again," said Finke. The Kleine Hofladen from Ostbevern took over the picnic catering and was very well received by the riders.
