Entrepreneur, speaker and author, honorary board member of the NRW Renewable Energies Association - Jörg Heynkes is right in the middle of the topics of energy transition and digitalisation. In his online lecture on 1 July (Thursday) from 6 p.m., he will give interested parties an exciting insight into the energy world of tomorrow. "We don't have a knowledge or technology problem in our society with this topic, but exclusively an action problem," Heynkes emphasises. The Münsterland districts of Borken, Coesfeld, Steinfurt, Warendorf, the City of Münster, Münsterland e.V. and EnergyAgency.NRW are offering the event as part of the climate campaign "Münsterland is Climate Land".
"We shape our future ourselves. Technical progress and climate and environmental protection go hand in hand," is the opening quote on Heynke's homepage. This is a fitting theme for the Münsterland, where people feel a strong connection to their landscape and where many companies are located that are constantly developing and exporting new technologies.
The energy transition is also an interplay of modern technology and digitalisation. And it is taking place everywhere in Münsterland. Wind farms, biogas plants and photovoltaics are now part of the landscape. But can these forms of energy production cover 100 percent of our energy needs? What storage technologies are needed for this? Will it be possible in future to intelligently control electricity feed-in and consumption and simply pass on one's own surplus solar power to one's neighbour? Jörg Heynkes will give an exciting insight into these and other questions about the energy world of tomorrow in an approximately one-hour online lecture on 1 July (Thursday) from 6 pm. This will be followed by a round of questions and discussion.
The lecture is part of the series of events organised by the Münsterland districts of Borken, Coesfeld, Steinfurt, Warendorf, the City of Münster, Münsterland e.V. and EnergyAgency.NRW as part of the climate campaign "Münsterland is Climate Land". It aims to inspire people in the region to do even more to protect the climate.
