Open-air cinema in front of a film set: "Spencer" and "TKKG" at Nordkirchen Castle

Scala Filmtheater, Münsterland e.V. and the municipality of Nordkirchen invite you to 19 and 20 August.

MÜNSTERLAND/NORDKIRCHEN/HOLLYWOOD. Hollywood in Münsterland: On 19 and 20 August, Nordkirchen Castle opens its doors and offers cinema fans and castle lovers a real experience. On a screen in the courtyard of the castle, the Scala Filmtheater in cooperation with Münsterland e.V. and the municipality of Nordkirchen will show the internationally acclaimed film drama "Spencer". Many scenes were shot in the castle and the surrounding parkland and even earned leading actress Kristen Stewart an Oscar nomination. The film "TKKG - Every Legend Has Its Beginning" will also be shown. It provides exciting film moments for young and old and was filmed at Loburg Castle in Ostbevern.

"I'm looking forward to showing a film like Spencer in its original setting, it makes for a completely different experience," says Johannes Austermann, Managing Director of the Scala Filmtheatre in Warendorf. Spencer will be shown on 19 August at dusk at around 8.45 pm, admission at 7.30 pm. TKKG follows on 20 August, also at 8.45 pm. The cinema guests can take a seat in the inner courtyard of the castle and will be provided with mobile food and beverages by the castle restaurant and the Scala team.

The idea for the screening came from Münsterland e.V. as part of the ERDF-funded project "Palaces and Castles Region Münsterland". Project manager Franziska Niemeyer put the actors in contact and is now pleased with the result: "The castles and palaces in Münsterland have a great appeal that is enhanced by high-quality film productions. We are therefore delighted that the film teams chose our historical treasures and were so actively supported by the local actors. Now we are making the whole thing tangible for the people of Münsterland."

The municipal administration team is also looking forward to this highlight event, which is part of the programme for the 1000th anniversary of the castle municipality. The organisers are supported by the landlady of Nordkirchen's baroque castle, the College of Finance (HSF). The team around the new head of administration Stefan Göttker not only provides the event space, but also supports the film screening with the technical staff in the inner courtyard of the castle. "We are very grateful to Mr. Göttker and the entire management of HSF for the good cooperation," makes Dietmar Bergmann, mayor of the municipality of Nordkirchen, clear.

Tickets for the open-air cinema are available for 10 euros (reduced rate 8 euros) through the online ticket system at www.scala-warendorf.de or through the Tourist Information Nordkirchen (Schloßstraße 11, 02596 917 500, tourismus@gemeinde.nordkirchen.de). The consumption of food and drinks brought along is not permitted.
