Open Data Münsterland - Tips for better visibility in the cultural sector are available at the Kulturakademie Münsterland

COESFELD DISTRICT/DÜLMEN. Cultural offerings that are not seen cannot be perceived. Therefore, visibility and easy access to information are indispensable. Whether event calendars, digital information boards or entire websites - Münsterland e.V. offers many useful tools. These will be presented and explained in the seminar "Open Data Münsterland - New Possibilities of Making Information Visible for Cultural Institutions and Cultural Organisers", offered by the Münsterland e.V. Cultural Office as part of its continuing education series Kulturakademie Münsterland. The event will take place on Tuesday, 25 April 2023, from 10 am to 2 pm in Dülmen, Alte Sparkasse, Münsterstraße 29.

With the open data approach pursued by Münsterland e.V., information on events, points of interest (POI) and routes is maintained centrally in the "Datenportal Münsterland" database and can be played out again in a wide variety of digital locations correctly and up-to-date on a daily basis. With the numerous tools, new target groups can be developed and new ideas can always be generated.

Speaker Charlotte Seick works in the "Tourist Data Management" project at Münsterland e.V. and is an expert in open data, i.e. data that can be used and disseminated by all users of the internet. Her tasks include looking after the Münsterland data portal. "With our tools, cultural institutions can draw the attention of many potential visitors to their offers with little effort," says Seick.

The seminar is aimed primarily at larger and medium-sized cultural institutions as well as organisers from the cultural sector. The event is free of charge. However, binding registration online at www.muensterland.com/kulturakademie is required, and the number of participants is limited. Participants should bring a laptop or similar device and ideally have an upcoming event in mind.

At www.muensterland.com/kult urakademie you can also find other dates of the Kulturakademie, for example the online seminar "Barrier-free music making, experiencing and celebrating: suggestions for music event organisers", which will be offered on Monday, 24 April 2023, from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. in cooperation with kubia - Competence Centre for Cultural Education in Old Age and Inclusion.
